Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen on water valve, Failed hot/cold water inlet valve assembly, Low household water pressure or closed supply valve, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the NewAir combo from power and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before working on water connections.
- Check household water supply: Verify both hot and cold faucets feeding the washer are fully open. Confirm water pressure by briefly opening the hoses into a bucket.
- Inspect inlet hoses and screens: Remove the hoses from the rear of the unit. Check for kinked hoses and clean the small metal filter screens inside the water inlet valve ports using a soft brush.
- Test a quick cycle: Reconnect hoses firmly, turn water back on, plug in the unit, and run a short wash. If E1 clears, the issue was restricted flow.
- Check water level sensor hose: With power unplugged, remove the top panel (usually a few screws at the back). Locate the thin pressure hose from the tub to the water level sensor. Ensure it is not kinked, cracked, or disconnected. Re-seat both ends securely.
- If still failing: The water inlet valve assembly may be defective. Replacement requires removing the top panel, disconnecting wiring and hoses from the valve, and installing a compatible NewAir water inlet valve assembly. If you are not comfortable with plumbing and electrical work, contact a qualified technician.
