Possible Causes

Shorted or open water inlet valve coil, Damaged wiring to inlet valve, Control board triac/relay failure for valve circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off water supply and unplug the unit before inspecting the inlet valve.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the top panel and locate the water inlet valve assembly at the rear. Check for signs of burning, cracking, or leaks around the valve body.
  • Check wiring: Ensure all valve connectors are fully seated and not corroded. Repair or replace any damaged wiring.
  • Coil resistance test (advanced): With a multimeter, measure resistance across each valve coil. A reading of open circuit or a dead short indicates a bad coil. Replace the valve assembly if any coil is defective.
  • Replace inlet valve: Shut off water, disconnect hoses, remove mounting screws, unplug wiring, and install a compatible NewAir inlet valve. Reconnect hoses and check for leaks.
  • If E12 persists: The control board output driving the valve may be faulty. Professional PCB diagnosis and replacement may be required.
