Possible Causes
Open or shorted dryer NTC sensor, Loose sensor wiring, Faulty control board temperature input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool before accessing the dryer ducting.
- Access NTC sensor: Remove the rear panel to locate the dryer air duct. The NTC sensor is typically mounted on or near the heater housing or exhaust duct.
- Check wiring: Inspect the sensor connector and wiring for damage or looseness. Re-seat the connector firmly.
- Test sensor (advanced): With a multimeter, measure the resistance of the NTC at room temperature and compare to NewAir specifications. An open or very low resistance indicates a faulty sensor.
- Replace NTC sensor: Remove the mounting screw or clip, disconnect the wiring, and install a compatible NewAir dryer temperature sensor.
- If E14 remains: The control board's temperature sensing circuit may be defective and should be evaluated by a professional technician.
