Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Faulty control panel (touchpad or buttons), Moisture intrusion into control panel, Main PCB communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or console.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test the controls. Sometimes a reset clears temporary communication faults.
- Dry the panel: If the panel was exposed to steam or spills, allow it to dry completely. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control console and check the flat ribbon cable between the user interface board and main PCB. Re-seat both ends carefully.
- Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage or corrosion on the UI board. If present, the panel may need replacement.
- Replace control panel: If E15 persists and wiring is intact, replace the user interface/control panel assembly with a compatible NewAir part. If the issue remains, the main control board may also require replacement.
