Possible Causes
Stuck or failed door lock solenoid, Faulty door lock sensor, Control board not sending unlock signal, Wiring harness issue between lock and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before attempting any manual door release. Be cautious of residual hot water or steam inside the drum.
- Allow cool-down: Wait 3–5 minutes after the cycle ends to ensure the lock has time to release. Some models delay unlocking for safety.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and attempt to unlock the door using the control panel. Sometimes the control board will reset and release the lock.
- Manual release: Locate the emergency door release (often a pull cord or lever) behind the lower front panel or near the door lock inside the gasket. Pull gently to mechanically release the lock.
- Inspect door lock assembly: With power unplugged and front panel or gasket removed, inspect the door lock for signs of overheating or broken components. Check the wiring harness for loose or damaged connectors.
- Replace lock if necessary: If the lock mechanism is stuck or the solenoid is open-circuit, replace the door lock assembly. If a new lock does not resolve E6, the main control board may require professional diagnosis and replacement.
