Machine overfills or shows E04; water level appears too high or water may leak from door.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance immediately if it is overfilling. Turn off the water supply tap.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect the pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the bottom of the tub to the pressure switch. Check for kinks, splits, or blockages. Blow gently through the hose (disconnected) to clear soap residue.
- Check the pressure switch: With the hose removed, gently blow into the switch; you should hear one or more clicks. If no click is heard or the switch rattles internally, it may be faulty and require replacement.
- Inlet valve test: If water continues to flow into the drum even when the machine is unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Clean pressure chamber: At the tub end, the pressure hose connects to a small chamber. Detach and clean this area of sludge and detergent buildup that can trap air and misread water level.
- Control board: If the pressure system and valve are good but E04 persists, the main PCB may not be interpreting the level signal correctly and may need replacement.
When to call a technician: Overfilling can cause serious water damage. If you are unsure about working on the pressure system or electrical components, contact a professional.
