Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Worn motor carbon brushes (on brushed motors), Seized drum bearings, Faulty motor control triac or inverter on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before removing any panels. Beware of sharp metal edges.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check the belt: Remove the rear panel to inspect the drive belt between the motor pulley and drum pulley. If the belt is off or broken, replace it with a Proline-compatible belt of the same size and profile.
- Spin the drum by hand: With the belt removed, rotate the drum. It should turn smoothly with slight resistance. Grinding or stiffness indicates bearing issues.
- Inspect motor brushes: On brushed motors, remove the motor and check the carbon brushes. If they are worn below ~1 cm or uneven, replace both brushes with the correct Proline motor brush set.
- Wiring and PCB: Check the motor connector and wiring harness for burns or loose pins. If the motor and belt are good but E07 persists, the motor control circuit on the PCB may be faulty.
When to call a technician: Bearing replacement and PCB-level motor control faults are advanced repairs; seek professional help if you are not experienced.
