Possible Causes
Closed or low-pressure water supply, Blocked inlet hose filter screens, Faulty water inlet valve, Defective water level (pressure) sensor or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from the mains before removing panels. Turn off the water taps.
- Check water supply: Ensure both hot and cold (if fitted) taps feeding the Rangemaster are fully open. Test water pressure by running a nearby tap; weak flow may require a plumber.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the machine forward slightly and check that hoses are not kinked or crushed. Straighten any kinks.
- Clean inlet filters: Turn off taps, unscrew the hoses from the rear inlet valves, and remove the small mesh filters inside the valve inlets. Rinse under running water to remove grit and limescale, then refit.
- Test fill: Reconnect hoses, turn taps back on, and run a quick wash. If E02 returns and no water is heard entering, the inlet valve coil may be faulty.
- Check inlet valve: With power unplugged, remove the top cover. Locate the water inlet valve assembly at the rear. Inspect wiring connectors and reseat them. If you have a multimeter and service data, test coil resistance; an open circuit coil indicates a failed valve.
- Pressure sensor and hose: If the drum overfills or never registers water, inspect the small rubber pressure hose from the tub to the pressure sensor (usually mounted high on the side). Ensure it is not split, blocked with soap residue, or disconnected. Clean or replace as needed.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the water inlet valve or pressure sensor if testing indicates failure. If unsure, contact a Rangemaster-authorised technician.
