Possible Causes
Failed low-voltage power supply on main PCB, Shorted component on control board, Intermittent PCB connectors, Surge damage from mains
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before removing the control panel or PCB housing.
- Power reset: Leave the appliance unplugged for at least 5–10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect and try a short cycle. If E09 returns immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Inspect PCB connections: Remove the control panel or side panel to access the main control PCB. Check all multi-pin connectors for secure fit and signs of overheating or corrosion. Reseat each connector one at a time.
- Visual PCB inspection: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or cracked solder joints, especially in the power supply section (near mains input). Any visible damage usually means the PCB must be replaced.
- Check for external shorts: Inspect wiring looms for crushed or pinched sections that could short to the chassis, particularly around the door area and base.
- Professional service: Because E09 typically indicates an internal PCB failure, replacement by a Rangemaster-qualified technician is recommended. Component-level repair is not generally supported for consumers.
