Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from hoses or pump, Cracked tub or sump hose, Activated float switch in base tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply immediately to prevent further leakage. Beware of water on the floor causing slip hazards.
- Check for visible leaks: Inspect around the door, front panel, and underneath the machine for signs of water. Note where drips appear.
- Access base tray: Carefully tilt the washer-dryer slightly backward (with assistance) and look underneath. Many Rangemaster models have a base tray with a float switch. If water is present, soak it up with towels or a sponge.
- Inspect hoses and pump: Remove the rear or front lower panel to inspect the drain pump, sump hose, and inlet hoses. Look for splits, loose clamps, or white tracks of dried detergent indicating slow leaks. Tighten clamps and replace damaged hoses.
- Door seal and dispenser: Check the door gasket for tears or mouldy, soft sections. Inspect the soap dispenser drawer and housing for leaks caused by overfilling or blocked dispenser jets. Clean the dispenser and replace the seal if necessary.
- Test after drying base: Once the base tray is dry and leaks are repaired, refit panels, restore power and water, and run a short cycle while observing for leaks.
