Possible Causes
Mechanically jammed door interlock, Failed door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control PCB not releasing lock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with tools that may damage the seal or glass.
- Wait for auto-release: After power-off, wait several minutes to see if the lock releases. Some locks have a delay mechanism.
- Manual release (if provided): Many Rangemaster models have a manual door release tab accessible through the pump filter flap or behind the lower front panel. Pull the tab gently to release the lock.
- Inspect door handle and latch: Once open, check that the handle operates smoothly and the latch tongue is not bent or broken. Replace the handle assembly if damaged.
- Check door lock assembly: Access the door interlock from behind the front panel or via the door seal. Inspect for signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Test continuity of the lock with a multimeter; replace if faulty.
- Control issue: If the lock tests good but E15 persists, the PCB may be failing to energise or de-energise the lock correctly. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
