Possible Causes

Failed door lock mechanism, Control PCB not sending unlock signal, Residual water in drum triggering safety lock, Swollen or jammed door gasket

Safety first: Switch off and unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open.

Wait for delay: Many Rangemaster models have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Wait this period.
Check for water in drum: If water is visible, run a drain/spin cycle. If the machine will not start, manually drain via the pump filter.
Manual release: Use the manual door release tab (if fitted) behind the pump filter flap or lower front panel.
Inspect door lock: Once open, test and replace the door lock assembly if it is sticking or electrically faulty.
