Frequent low-temperature washes, Residual detergent and softener in tub, Standing water in sump hose, Door kept closed between washes

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use only cleaning products suitable for washing machines. Do not mix chemicals.

  • Run maintenance wash: Run an empty 90°C cotton cycle with a proprietary washing machine cleaner or 1–2 cups of white vinegar (if permitted by Rangemaster guidelines).
  • Clean door seal: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth and mild detergent, removing black mould and residue.
  • Clean dispenser drawer: Remove and scrub the drawer and housing to remove mould and slime.
  • Improve ventilation: Leave the door and dispenser drawer slightly open between washes to allow the interior to dry.
