Possible Causes
Torn or perished door gasket, Foreign objects trapped in seal, Loose retaining band or clamp, Over-foaming from excess detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and mop up any spilled water to prevent slips.
- Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber gasket. Look for tears, holes, or hardened sections.
- Remove debris: Clean out coins, hairpins, and lint trapped in the folds of the seal. Wipe with a mild detergent solution.
- Check retaining band: Ensure the outer metal or plastic band holding the seal to the front panel is tight and not dislodged. Refit or replace if loose.
- Replace gasket if damaged: Remove the outer and inner retaining bands, pull off the old gasket, and fit a new Rangemaster-compatible door seal, aligning the drain holes at the bottom. Refit bands securely.
- Detergent use: Use only HE (high-efficiency) detergent in the recommended quantity to reduce excessive suds that can leak past the seal.
