Washer-dryer makes scraping or grinding noise when drum turns

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before reaching into the drum or removing parts.

• Inspect drum interior: Run your hand carefully around the inside of the drum and along the drum paddles. Look for protruding wires or sharp objects.
• Check door seal area: Gently pull back the door gasket and look for objects caught at the front of the drum.
• Remove drum paddle (if needed): Some Rangemaster drums allow removal of a paddle to access trapped items. Release the paddle clip and remove the object with pliers.
• Test rotation: After removal, spin the drum by hand to confirm the noise has gone.
