Possible Causes

Clogged lint filter, Blocked internal lint duct, Obstructed exhaust vent hose (vented models), Failed or shorted NTC temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit. Heating components and ducts may be hot; allow time to cool.

  • Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter before every drying cycle. Wash with warm water and mild detergent if coated with fabric softener residue.
  • Inspect exhaust hose (vented models): Check the rear vent hose for kinks, crushing, or lint buildup. Detach and clean the hose and wall vent using a vent brush.
  • Check internal ducts: Remove the rear panel and inspect the internal air duct and blower housing for lint accumulation. Carefully vacuum out lint without damaging sensors or wiring.
  • Verify ambient conditions: Ensure the unit has adequate clearance around it and is not installed in a confined, unventilated space.
  • When to replace parts: If airflow is good but E12 persists, the NTC temperature sensor or high-limit thermostat may be faulty and should be replaced. Persistent overheating may also indicate a failing blower fan motor.
