Possible Causes
Load distributed unevenly in drum, Shock absorbers (dampers) worn or detached, Suspension springs stretched or broken, Unit not level on floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands clear of the spinning drum. Unplug the unit before adjusting internal components.
- Redistribute the load: Open the door once the machine unlocks. Separate heavy items (like towels or blankets) and redistribute them evenly around the drum. Remove some items if the drum is tightly packed.
- Level the appliance: Use a bubble level on the top of the unit. Adjust the front and rear leveling feet so the washer-dryer combo is stable and does not rock when pushed diagonally.
- Check floor stability: Ensure the unit is on a solid, non-flexing surface. Avoid placing it on soft wood or weak platforms.
- Inspect suspension (advanced): Unplug and remove the top or rear panel. Inspect the suspension springs and shock absorbers attached to the tub. Look for oil leakage from shocks, broken springs, or detached mounting points.
- When to replace parts: If E4 occurs frequently even with balanced loads and a level machine, replace worn shock absorbers and any damaged suspension springs.
