How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately press Power to stop the cycle, unplug the unit, and do not use it until the source is identified.
- Inspect belt and pulleys: Remove the rear panel and check the drive belt for glazing or burning. Ensure it is properly tensioned and aligned.
- Check heater area: Remove the rear panel and inspect the heater housing for lint buildup or foreign objects that may be scorching.
- Smell source: Try to localize the smell to the motor, belt area, or heater area.
- When to replace parts: Replace a burnt or slipping drive belt. If the heater is covered in lint or shows signs of arcing, clean thoroughly and replace the heater element assembly if damaged. Persistent motor overheating may require a new drive motor.
