Possible Causes
Restricted airflow in lint duct or vent, Moisture sensor coated with residue, Faulty moisture sensor, Incorrect cycle selection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning internal ducts or sensors.
- Clean lint path: In addition to the lint filter, clean the internal lint duct and blower housing. Use a vacuum and brush to remove buildup.
- Check vent length (vented models): Ensure the vent run is not excessively long or with too many bends, which can restrict airflow.
- Clean moisture sensor: Locate the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum (usually near the front). Clean them with a soft cloth and mild detergent to remove fabric softener film.
- Use appropriate cycle: For mixed loads or small loads, use timed dry instead of sensor dry to avoid premature termination.
- When to replace parts: If clothes remain damp and the cycle runs unusually long, replace the moisture sensor or associated wiring harness.
