Possible Causes
Load clustered on one side of drum, Single heavy item causing imbalance, Worn suspension rods or dampers, Faulty vibration sensor (VRT sensor)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the door until the drum has fully stopped. Unplug the unit before any internal inspection.
Steps to correct:
- Redistribute the load: Open the door, separate tangled items, and mix large and small garments. Remove or add items to balance the load.
- Check leveling: Ensure the washer-dryer combo is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the front leveling feet and lock them with the jam nuts. A level unit reduces UE errors.
- Run spin only: Select a spin-only cycle to see if the machine reaches full speed without error.
- Inspect suspension (advanced): If UE occurs even with balanced loads, remove the top and inspect the suspension rods or dampers for oil leakage, broken plastic mounts, or excessive play. Replace worn components.
When to stop: Persistent UE with normal loads may indicate a faulty vibration sensor or worn bearings. These repairs are more complex and often require a technician.
