Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before working near the dryer heater.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Clean airflow and condenser:
- Remove the lower front panel or condenser access flap (model dependent).
- Take out the condenser unit (if removable) and rinse it thoroughly under running water to remove lint.
- Clean lint from ducts, fan housing, and around the dryer heater area.
- 2. Check the dryer heater and thermostats:
- Access the dryer heater assembly (often at the rear or side of the drum housing).
- Disconnect the heater connectors and measure resistance; if open circuit, replace the heater.
- Test the thermal cut-out and thermostats for continuity; any open device (that is not resettable) should be replaced.
- 3. Inspect the dryer NTC sensor:
- Locate the NTC on the air duct or near the heater.
- Measure its resistance at room temperature and compare with Siemens specifications.
- Replace if readings are out of range or unstable.
- 4. Wiring and control module:
- Check connectors for heat damage or loose pins.
- If all components test good but E06 persists, the power module heater relay or triac may be defective.
When to call a technician: If heater replacement requires major disassembly or if control board faults are suspected, professional service is recommended.
