Possible Causes
Closed or restricted water tap, Blocked inlet hose filter screens, Faulty water inlet valve, Low water pressure or kinked inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before disconnecting hoses. Turn off the water tap.
- Check water supply: Ensure the cold water tap feeding the SMEG combo is fully open. Verify household water pressure by opening a nearby tap.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the machine forward slightly. Check that the inlet hose is not kinked or crushed behind the unit.
- Clean inlet filters: Turn off the tap, unscrew the inlet hose from the back of the washer-dryer, and remove the small mesh filters from the valve inlets. Rinse them under running water to remove limescale or debris, then reinstall.
- Test fill: Reconnect the hose, turn on the tap, and briefly place the hose end in a bucket to confirm good flow. Reattach to the machine and try a fill cycle.
- Check for valve operation: If E02 persists and you hear no water entering, the water inlet valve coil may be faulty. With power disconnected, access the top of the machine, locate the valve, and inspect wiring. Replace the valve assembly if coils are open-circuit or the valve is stuck closed.
- Professional help: If water supply and valve are good, the pressure sensor or control board may not be registering fill; contact a technician.
