Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump filter, Clogged drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Faulty drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine. Water may spill when opening the filter—have towels and a shallow tray ready.
- Access pump filter: Open the lower front service flap. Place a tray under the filter cap.
- Clean filter: Slowly unscrew the filter cap to let water drain gradually. Remove the filter and clear lint, coins, buttons, or other debris. Check inside the pump housing for obstructions and carefully rotate the impeller to ensure it moves freely.
- Inspect drain hose: Check the rear drain hose for kinks or crushing. Remove the hose from the standpipe or sink connection and flush it with water to clear blockages.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the filter securely, close the flap, reconnect power, and run a drain or spin-only program.
- Check pump operation: If you still get E03 and you do not hear the pump running, the pump motor or wiring may be faulty. With power disconnected, access the pump from the rear or bottom, inspect connectors, and test the pump coil with a multimeter. Replace the drain pump if open-circuit or seized.
- Call a technician: If the pump is good but E03 persists, the pressure switch or control board may be at fault.
