Possible Causes

Stuck water inlet valve, Blocked or kinked pressure switch hose, Faulty pressure switch, Leak into base activating anti-flood float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply immediately to prevent flooding.

  • Check for leaks: Gently tilt the machine forward (with help) and see if water drains from the base. If water is present in the base tray, locate and repair the source of the leak (door seal, hoses, pump, or tub connections).
  • Inspect inlet valve: Turn off the tap and see if water continues to enter the drum. If water still flows with power off, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Check pressure system: Remove the top cover, locate the pressure switch and its small rubber hose. Ensure the hose is not split, blocked with soap residue, or kinked. Clean or replace as needed.
  • Reset anti-flood: Once leaks are fixed and the base is dry, reconnect power and run a short cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
  • Professional diagnosis: If E04 returns with no visible leaks and a new valve/pressure switch, the main PCB or anti-flood sensor wiring may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
