How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and wait for the unit to cool before accessing the dryer components.
- Check lint filters: Clean any accessible lint filters or screens in the door area and internal ducting.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the top or rear panel to locate the dryer fan housing and motor.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove lint, fabric pieces, or foreign objects from the fan blades and ductwork.
- Test fan motor: Spin the fan by hand to ensure it moves freely. Use a multimeter to check continuity of the fan motor windings. Replace the fan motor if open-circuit or seized.
- Check wiring: Ensure the fan motor connector is secure and wires are not damaged.
- Test drying: Reassemble and run a drying cycle. If E12 persists, the control board may not be driving the fan correctly and should be checked by a technician.
