Possible Causes
Loose tachometer magnet on motor shaft, Faulty tachometer coil, Damaged motor connector, Faulty speed control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the motor.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel to expose the drive motor.
- Inspect tachometer: At the rear of the motor, check the tachometer assembly. Ensure the magnet is secure on the shaft and the coil is not cracked or loose.
- Check wiring: Inspect the tachometer wires and connector for damage or corrosion. Reseat the connector.
- Test tachometer coil: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the tachometer terminals. Replace the tachometer or motor if readings are out of specification.
- Professional diagnosis: If the tachometer and wiring are good, the speed control circuit on the PCB may be defective and should be checked by a technician.
