How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply if leak is significant.
- Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the rubber gasket all around for tears, holes, or deformation. Remove any coins, bra wires, or debris lodged in the folds.
- Check retaining band: Ensure the outer metal or plastic band holding the seal to the front panel is secure and not displaced.
- Reduce detergent: If you see excessive foam, reduce detergent dosage and use HE (low-suds) detergent suitable for washer-dryers.
- Replace gasket: If the seal is damaged, remove the retaining bands, pull off the old gasket, and fit a new SMEG-compatible door seal, ensuring correct alignment of drain holes.
