Cycle will not start; display shows dE and door appears closed but not recognized

Safety first: Unplug the combo before removing any panels or testing continuity.

• 1. Confirm door is fully closed: Push firmly on the door near the latch side and try to start a cycle. If it starts only when pressed, the strike or hinges are misaligned.
• 2. Inspect door strike: Check for wear or bending. Replace the strike if it does not enter the lock opening straight and fully.
• 3. Access door lock switch: Remove the front panel or door boot clamp to reach the lock. Verify the connector is tight and free of corrosion.
• 4. Continuity test: With the door closed and power disconnected, test the door-closed switch contacts on the lock assembly using a multimeter. If the switch does not close (no continuity), replace the lock assembly.
• 5. Harness check: Inspect the harness from the lock to the control for broken conductors, especially where it passes through the cabinet.
• 6. Replace faulty parts: Install a new door lock assembly or door strike as needed. Reassemble and test.
• 7. Control board evaluation: If the door switch tests good but dE persists, the main control board input circuit may be defective and require professional replacement.
