Possible Causes

Low water pressure to machine, Clogged inlet screens on water valves, Failed hot or cold water inlet valve, Pressure sensor not detecting fill

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off both hot and cold water supply valves and unplug the unit before disconnecting hoses.

  • 1. Check household water supply: Ensure both hot and cold faucets feeding the combo are fully open. Verify good pressure at a nearby sink.
  • 2. Inspect inlet hoses: Turn off water, remove hoses from the back of the washer, and check the small filter screens inside the valve inlets. Clean any sediment with a soft brush.
  • 3. Check for kinked hoses: Make sure hoses are not sharply bent or pinched behind the unit.
  • 4. Test fill: Reconnect hoses, turn water back on, and run a fill test. Listen for the valves opening and watch for water entering the tub.
  • 5. Electrical test of valves: With power disconnected, measure resistance across each water valve coil. Compare to Speed Queen specifications. Replace the valve assembly if a coil is open or shorted.
  • 6. Pressure sensor/hose check: Inspect the small air hose from the tub to the pressure sensor on the control. Ensure it is not kinked, cracked, or disconnected. Reattach or replace as needed.
  • 7. Replace faulty components: Install a new OEM water inlet valve assembly or pressure sensor if they fail tests. Clear the error by unplugging for a few minutes and retest.
