Possible Causes

Blocked lint filter or exhaust duct, Failed high-limit thermostat, Failed cycling thermostat, Restricted blower wheel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and, for gas models, shut off the gas supply before servicing. Allow the dryer to cool completely.

  • 1. Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint screen. Wash with warm soapy water if coated with fabric softener residue.
  • 2. Inspect exhaust duct: Disconnect the vent hose from the back of the combo and check for lint buildup or crushed sections. Clean or replace as needed.
  • 3. Check wall vent: Ensure the exterior vent hood opens freely and is not blocked by lint, nests, or debris.
  • 4. Access thermostats: Remove the rear panel to access the high-limit thermostat and cycling thermostat on the heater housing or burner assembly.
  • 5. Test thermostats: With power off, check continuity across each thermostat. A high-limit that is open and non-resettable must be replaced. Replace any thermostat that does not match spec.
  • 6. Inspect blower wheel: Check the blower wheel for lint clogs or damage. Ensure it spins freely on the motor shaft.
  • 7. Replace faulty parts: Install new OEM thermostats or blower wheel as needed. Reassemble, restore power and gas, and test a timed dry cycle while monitoring exhaust temperature.
