Possible Causes
Blocked pressure hose from tub to sensor, Faulty pressure switch/level sensor, Air leak in pressure hose, Control board misreading level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply before removing hoses.
- 1. Locate pressure sensor: Typically mounted near the top of the cabinet with a small rubber or plastic hose running down to the tub or air dome.
- 2. Inspect pressure hose: Remove the hose from the sensor and tub connection. Blow gently through it to ensure it is clear. Replace if cracked, brittle, or blocked.
- 3. Check for water in hose: Water trapped in the hose can cause false readings. Drain and dry the hose, then reinstall.
- 4. Sensor test: With power off, measure resistance across the sensor terminals per the tech sheet while applying slight air pressure (by gently blowing). If readings do not change or are out of spec, replace the sensor.
- 5. Reassemble and test: Reconnect hose and wiring, secure the sensor, and run a small load to verify proper filling and draining.
- 6. Control board consideration: If a new sensor and hose do not resolve Er8, the control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
