Possible Causes
Clogged condenser unit, Blocked internal air ducts, Heavy lint buildup around heater and blower, Faulty condenser fan (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning the condenser or ducts.
- Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter before every drying cycle.
- Clean condenser unit: If your Summit combo has a removable condenser (usually behind a lower front panel), open the panel, release the condenser, and slide it out. Rinse it under warm running water until all lint and debris are removed. Let it drain and dry before reinstalling.
- Vacuum internal ducts: Remove the rear or side panel to access air channels. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove lint from ducts, around the heater, and near the blower.
- Check condenser fan (if present): Some models use a fan to move air across the condenser. Ensure the fan spins freely and is not obstructed. Replace the condenser fan motor if it is seized or not running.
Persistent E12 after thorough cleaning may indicate a sensor or control issue; contact a technician for further diagnosis.
