Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply. Water in the base can contact electrical parts.
- Check for visible leaks: Look around the front door, under the unit, and behind it for signs of water trails or dripping.
- Inspect door gasket: Examine the rubber door boot for tears, holes, or debris stuck on the sealing surface. Clean with mild soap and water. Replace the door gasket if damaged.
- Access base area: Carefully tilt the unit slightly backward (with assistance) and look underneath for water in the base tray. Some models have a float switch that triggers E13 when water is present.
- Dry the base: Use towels or a sponge to remove water from the base tray. Allow the area to dry completely.
- Inspect internal hoses (advanced): Remove the rear or front lower panel to inspect the tub-to-pump hose, pump-to-drain hose, and clamps. Tighten loose clamps and replace any cracked hoses.
- Reduce detergent: If you see heavy foam, you may be using too much or non-HE detergent. Switch to HE detergent and use the amount recommended by Summit.
After repairs and drying, plug the unit back in and test. If E13 returns or leaks persist, have a technician perform a pressure test to locate hidden leaks.
