Possible Causes
Faulty inlet temperature sensor (if equipped), Miswired hot and cold hoses, Defective main control board reading sensor incorrectly, Loose sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply before working on hoses or sensors.
- Verify hose connections: Ensure the hot water hose is connected to the hot inlet and the cold hose to the cold inlet on the back of the machine. Reverse if incorrect.
- Check water temperature: Run hot and cold water at a nearby sink to confirm the household supply is correct.
- Inspect inlet sensor (if present): Some Summit combos use a thermistor near the inlet valve. Remove the top panel, locate the sensor, and ensure its connector is secure and wires are intact.
- Replace sensor: If the sensor is visibly damaged or tests out of range with a multimeter, replace it with the correct inlet water temperature sensor.
If E17 persists, the main control board may be misinterpreting sensor data and should be checked by a technician.
