Possible Causes
Blocked pressure sensor air hose, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and main control board, Over-sudsing causing incorrect level readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top panel or accessing internal components.
- Reduce suds: If you see excessive foam in the drum, run a rinse and spin cycle with no detergent. Use only HE (high-efficiency) detergent and follow Summit's recommended amounts.
- Access pressure sensor: Remove the top panel. Locate the round or rectangular pressure sensor with a small rubber or plastic hose attached, usually mounted on the side or top frame.
- Inspect and clear hose: Ensure the hose is securely attached at both ends and not kinked, cracked, or pinched. Disconnect the hose from the sensor and blow gently through it toward the tub to clear any soap or debris. Reconnect firmly.
- Check for moisture or corrosion: Inspect the sensor connector and wiring harness for corrosion, loose pins, or moisture. Dry and reseat the connector if needed.
- Test cycle: Reassemble the top, plug in the unit, and run a short wash. If E6 returns, the pressure sensor itself or the main control board may be faulty and typically requires replacement.
Sensor and control board diagnosis is best performed by a qualified technician with proper test equipment.
