Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Overloaded drum causing motor strain, Loose motor pulley or belt slippage, Defective motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor or rear panel.
- Reduce load: Remove some items from the drum and try a smaller, balanced load. Overloading can cause the motor to draw excessive current and trigger E8.
- Inspect belt and pulley: Remove the rear panel. Check that the drive belt is tight and properly seated on both the motor and drum pulleys. Tighten any loose pulley bolts.
- Check motor connections: Verify the motor wiring harness is fully connected and not damaged. Look for signs of overheating or burnt insulation.
- Test spin: Reassemble, plug in, and run a spin-only cycle. If E8 returns quickly, the motor tachometer sensor (often integrated into the motor) or the motor control circuit on the main PCB may be defective.
Because motor control faults involve high current and complex electronics, further diagnosis and replacement should be performed by a professional technician.
