Possible Causes
Stuck-open water inlet valve, Blocked or disconnected pressure sensor hose, Faulty water level sensor, Control board not shutting off valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately if it is overfilling. Shut off the water supply valves to prevent flooding.
- Check tub water level: If the drum is overfilled, manually remove water using a bucket or wet/dry vacuum until below the door opening.
- Inspect inlet valves: With the unit unplugged and water supply off, disconnect the inlet hoses and check for debris. If water continues to flow into the tub when the machine is unplugged and water supply is on, the water inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Inspect pressure hose and sensor: Remove the top panel and verify the pressure hose is securely attached and not cracked or blocked. Clear any blockage as described in the E6 procedure.
- Test with a small cycle: After reassembly, plug in, turn on water, and run a short cycle while monitoring the fill. If the water level still behaves abnormally and E9 returns, the pressure sensor or main control board may be defective.
Overflow conditions can cause water damage; if you are unsure, contact a technician promptly.
