Possible Causes
Worn carbon brushes on motor (for brushed motors), Faulty tachometer sensor on motor, Loose motor wiring connector, Defective motor or main PCB drive circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains. Do not work under the machine while it is plugged in.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding. Excessive resistance may indicate mechanical issues rather than motor electronics.
- Access the motor: Remove the rear panel. Locate the drive belt and motor at the bottom of the tub.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the motor plug is fully seated and free of burn marks or corrosion.
- Check carbon brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor and inspect the brushes. If they are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace both brushes with compatible Teka motor brushes.
- Test tachometer coil: On the rear of the motor, measure resistance of the tachometer coil. An open circuit indicates a failed tachometer.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the motor and belt, ensuring correct tension. Run a spin-only program to verify operation.
Warning: If the motor and tachometer are good but E06 persists, the main PCB may be defective. High-voltage motor control circuits should be serviced by a qualified technician.
