Possible Causes
Shorted motor windings, Shorted motor triac on PCB, Damaged wiring harness to motor, Overcurrent event from jammed drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset only after disconnecting the machine.
- Check drum for obstructions: Rotate the drum by hand. If it is jammed, inspect between drum and door seal for foreign objects (e.g., bra wires, coins).
- Inspect motor and wiring: Remove rear panel, check motor connector and harness for burn marks or melted insulation.
- Test motor windings: With a multimeter, measure resistance between motor terminals and to earth. Very low resistance or continuity to earth indicates a shorted motor that must be replaced.
Warning: E09 commonly involves PCB power components. Do not attempt board-level repair unless you are trained and equipped. Contact a Teka-authorized service center.
