Possible Causes

Stuck water inlet valve, siphoning due to improper drain hose installation, blocked pressure hose, faulty pressure switch, slow drain pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves.

Step-by-step checks:

  • Check for overfilling: If the tub is very full, manually bail out water into a bucket to prevent spillage.
  • Inspect inlet valves: Turn water back on briefly with power disconnected. If water flows into the tub with no power, the inlet valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
  • Verify drain hose installation: Ensure the drain hose is at the correct height and not sealed airtight into the standpipe. An improperly installed hose can cause siphoning and confuse the control.
  • Check pressure system: Inspect and clear the pressure hose and air dome. Test the pressure switch as described for F05.
  • Confirm drain performance: Run a drain & spin and observe how quickly water exits. Clean the pump filter and hose if slow.

When to replace: Replace a stuck inlet valve or faulty pressure switch as needed. If all mechanical components are correct and F09 persists, the main control board may be misinterpreting signals and require replacement.
