• Inspect pump impeller: Check that the impeller is not broken and spins freely. Remove any obstruction.
• Check drain hose: Verify the hose is not kinked or blocked. Detach from standpipe and flush with water if needed.
• Test drain function: Reassemble, restore power, and run a drain & spin. Listen for the pump. If it hums but does not pump, it may be seized.

When to replace: If cleaning does not resolve F21 and the pump is noisy, hot, or not running, replace the drain pump assembly.
