Possible Causes

Leaking door seal (gasket), Split sump hose, Loose or cracked drain hose, Leak from detergent dispenser or tub seal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply. Mop up any standing water around the machine.

  • Inspect base tray: Remove the rear or side panel (depending on model) and check the base tray for water. Dry it thoroughly with towels. If there is a float switch, ensure it moves freely.
  • Check door gasket: Examine the Zanussi door seal for tears, holes, or heavy mould at the bottom. Run a small rinse cycle while watching the door area for drips.
  • Inspect hoses: Check the sump hose from tub to pump, the recirculation hose (if fitted), and the external drain hose for cracks, loose clamps, or pinholes. Tighten clamps and replace any damaged hoses.
  • Check dispenser and inlet area: Pull out the detergent drawer and look for leaks from the dispenser housing or inlet hose connections during a fill cycle.
  • Test run: After repairs, run a short wash while observing the interior for leaks before refitting panels.

If you cannot locate the leak or it appears to come from the tub seam or bearing area, contact a professional as tub replacement is complex.
