Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken door catch, Wiring fault between door lock and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before working on the door lock or control wiring.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and the latch engages fully. Look for broken plastic on the door hook or frame.
- Inspect door seal and hinge: A distorted seal or loose hinge can prevent proper locking. Tighten hinge screws and reseat the seal if necessary.
- Test door interlock: Remove the front retaining band of the door gasket and access the interlock. Check the connector is fully inserted. Use a multimeter to test continuity across the lock terminals when the door is closed (with power disconnected).
- Replace faulty lock: If the interlock does not change state when the door is closed, fit a new Zanussi-compatible door lock assembly.
If E30 persists with a new lock and good wiring, the control board may not be sending the lock signal and will require professional diagnosis.
