Washer-dryer will not start; E40 or a flashing door symbol appears, door may not lock.

Safety: Ensure the machine is unplugged before removing any panels.

• Check door closure: Push the door firmly until you hear a positive click. Remove any laundry trapped between door and seal.
• Inspect latch and catch: Look for cracks in the plastic door hook or frame striker. Replace damaged parts.
• Test door lock: If the door closes correctly but E40 remains, access the door lock from behind the front panel and check the wiring connector. Replace the lock if it shows signs of burning or mechanical failure.

If the door lock and latch are good, the control board may not be sending the lock signal and should be checked by a technician.
