Possible Causes
Open-circuit dryer heater, Tripped thermal cut-out (TOC), Blocked condenser or airflow, Faulty dryer NTC sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and let it cool fully.
- Clean airflow path: Remove lint and fluff from the condenser (if user-accessible), fan housing, and air ducts. Blocked airflow can cause overheating and TOC trips.
- Reset or replace TOC: Locate the thermal cut-out on the dryer heater housing. Some are resettable (small button); others must be replaced if open circuit.
- Test dryer heater: Measure resistance of the heater element. Replace the heater assembly if open or shorted.
- Check dryer NTC: Measure the sensor resistance and replace if out of specification.
