1. Remove dispenser drawer: Pull the drawer out and press the release tab to remove it completely. Clean out detergent buildup and debris.
2. Inspect dispenser housing: Check for mold, hardened detergent, or foreign objects blocking water flow. Clean thoroughly with hot water and a brush.
3. Access dispenser motor: Remove the top panel and locate the dispenser motor/actuator on the dispenser body. Check wiring connections.
4. Test motor: With the washer unplugged, measure resistance across the motor terminals. Replace the motor if open or shorted.

When to call a technician: If the mechanical parts are free and the motor tests good, the control output to the dispenser may be faulty.
