Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Sticking water inlet valve, Control board water level circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and close the water taps immediately if overfilling is observed.
- 1. Check if water continues to enter when unplugged: If water keeps flowing into the drum with the machine unplugged, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- 2. Inspect pressure hose and chamber: Remove the top cover. Locate the thin pressure hose running from the tub/air chamber to the pressure switch. Detach it and blow through it to ensure it is clear. Remove any soap sludge from the air chamber on the tub side.
- 3. Test the pressure switch: With power disconnected, remove the switch and gently blow into the pressure port while listening for distinct clicks. Use a multimeter to verify that the switch contacts change state when pressure is applied. Replace the pressure switch if it does not operate correctly.
- 4. Examine wiring and PCB: Check the harness between the pressure switch and main control module for damage. Look for burnt tracks or components on the PCB. PCB repair or replacement should be done by a qualified technician.
- 5. Run a test cycle: After replacing any faulty parts, run a rinse/spin cycle and monitor the water level. If E04 reappears, further electronic diagnosis is required.
