Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Activated float switch, Damaged tub seal or hose, Cracked detergent drawer or inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and turn off water supply immediately if a leak is suspected.
- 1. Inspect for visible leaks: Look around and under the washer for water. Remove the lower front panel or rear panel to inspect the base tray.
- 2. Check float switch: Many Amica models have a float switch in the base. If water is present, carefully tilt the machine (with help) to drain the tray and dry it thoroughly. Do not operate the washer until the source of the leak is found.
- 3. Examine hoses and seals: Inspect the door gasket, tub-to-pump hose, drain hose, and inlet hoses for cracks, loose clamps, or pinholes. Tighten or replace as needed.
- 4. Check detergent drawer and inlet system: Pull out the dispenser drawer and look for cracks or blockages causing water to overflow. Clean and replace damaged parts.
- 5. Reset and test: After fixing the leak and drying the base, reconnect power and run a short cycle while monitoring for leaks. If E13 reappears without visible water, the float switch or wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
