Possible Causes
Shorted drain pump, Faulty pump triac on PCB, Wiring short in pump circuit, Blocked pump causing overload
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer and prepare for water spillage when opening the pump filter.
- 1. Clean pump filter and check for blockage: Open the pump access flap, remove and clean the filter, and ensure the impeller turns freely.
- 2. Test pump motor: Disconnect the pump wiring and measure resistance across the pump terminals. A very low resistance or visible burn marks indicate a shorted pump that must be replaced.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Follow the pump wires to the PCB, checking for insulation damage or signs of arcing.
- 4. Check PCB: If a new pump still triggers E22, the pump control triac or relay on the main board may be damaged. Replace the PCB with the correct Amica part.
- 5. Verify operation: After repairs, run a drain-only program to confirm proper pump function and that E22 does not reappear.
