Possible Causes
Incorrect NTC resistance, Wrong replacement sensor fitted, Poor NTC contact with heater housing, PCB calibration fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the washer to cool.
- 1. Confirm correct NTC part: If the sensor was recently replaced, verify that the installed NTC matches the original Amica part number and specification.
- 2. Reseat NTC: Remove and refit the NTC sensor, ensuring it is fully inserted into the heater bracket and has good thermal contact.
- 3. Measure resistance at different temperatures: Check NTC resistance at room temperature and after warming it slightly (e.g., in warm water, disconnected). The resistance should decrease smoothly as temperature rises. Replace if readings are erratic.
- 4. Inspect wiring and PCB: Check the NTC harness and PCB connector. If all hardware is correct and E31 persists, the control board's temperature circuit may be faulty.
